a few months ago we spent a magical day driving into the country to meet up with an amazing couple who have a machine from the 1850's used for bending solid lengths of timber into curved shapes - think bentwood chairs etc...

this is their wonderfully atmospheric workshop filled with all manner of circular timber window frames, carriage wheels, steam driven machinery and huge molds for steam bending solid lengths of wood into these amazing shapes. Original steampunks they are!

...and these are what we've been making together - proudly local and beautifully crafted to last forever (we're talking seriously loved family heirloom!)

ps. come by and see us (and shelves!) at Bowerbird Bazaar in Adelaide 8th-10th October (>.<)

by Miranda Moreira | July 09, 2009

just returned from gorgeous Sydney where Magnolia Square had it's first ever Sydney appearance at the Randwick Racecourse- there were swarms of lovely shoppers and the whole event was beautifully presented and organised as usual - we were very proud to have won a 'favorite product' award from the girls at Shop Till You Drop magazine! - THANK YOU! (and also huge thanks to Nic,Brooke and Georgina from Magnolia Square ) :)
