adventure

by Miranda Moreira | February 28, 2010

a few months ago we spent a magical day driving into the country to meet up with an amazing couple who have a machine from the 1850's used for bending solid lengths of timber into curved shapes - think bentwood chairs etc...

this is their wonderfully atmospheric workshop filled with all manner of circular timber window frames, carriage wheels, steam driven machinery and huge molds for steam bending solid lengths of wood into these amazing shapes. Original steampunks they are!

...and these are what we've been making together - proudly local and beautifully crafted to last forever (we're talking seriously loved family heirloom!)

ps. come by and see us (and shelves!) at Bowerbird Bazaar in Adelaide 8th-10th October (>.<)
